The VA Campus Toolkit was created by the National Center for PTSD, in conjunction with the VA's Veterans Integration to Academic Leadership (VITAL) program. The National Center for PTSD is a VA center of excellence for research and education on the prevention, understanding, and treatment of PTSD. The VITAL program is a VA office of Mental Health Services (MHS) community engagement initiative designed to assist student Veterans to meet their educational goals through collaborative efforts with higher education institutions, on-campus clinical therapy and care management services.
The primary development team consisted of a group of psychologists at the Dissemination and Training Division of the National Center for PTSD, located in Menlo Park, CA. The team included: Annabel Prins, Shana Spangler, Robyn Walser, and Josef Ruzek. Contributing staff from the VITAL program included: Damian Bramlett, Bryan Batien, Kai Chitaphong, and Trisha Vinatieri. External reviewers included: Keith Armstrong, Shannon McCaslin, and Derek Blumke.
